What a Difference a Day Makes

My Beautiful Angel Face Rose Before Being Eaten

I was so very happy to see my Angel Face rose make a special January guest appearance the other day! It was like a preview of Spring and all of her beautiful coming attractions, and for a brief moment in time, all was right with the world! *Sigh*

Then, it happened! What a difference a day makes! 24 little hours later, I discovered my poor, sweet, beautiful Angel Face rose ripped savagely from her stem, half eaten and lying on the cold hard ground. NOOOO! Not my beautiful January rose! Who could do such a dastardly thing?? Hmmmm, I wonder 🤷🏼‍♀️. Could it be a SQUIRREL???? 🐿 Yes, I do believe it was a squirrel. Apparently they like to eat roses, so therefore, it must have been a squirrel. But wait! So do rats. 🐀 And chickens. 🐓 Chickens eat roses too. Well, truth be told, chickens will eat just about anything and everything that won’t eat them first! LOL. Honestly, I can guess all day long, but since I didn’t see the culprit, I guess I will never know which one of the usual suspects it was. 😢

Oh well, at least I took a picture of my pretty rose. Pictures last longer anyways right? Besides, there will be more roses in Spring and Spring really isn’t that far away! I can wait. I think. I hope. I can. Maybe 🤪.
